AK Child & Family was very grateful to have hosted volunteers from Alyeska Pipeline for the 2018 United Way Day of Caring on Septmeber 12, 2018. These volunteers spent the day painting residential student cottages on our Maplewood Campus--it's amazing what a fresh coat of paint can do! Please enjoy the below account of one volunteer's perspective on why the company remains involved year after year.
"Alyeska has been a strong advocate for the community and the United Way here in Alaska. Our employees come from all walks of life and many different backgrounds and their volunteer spirit is shown every year, not just through the United Way, but in many acts that may often fly under the radar. I think most of us know someone close to them who has (or have themselves) had to turn to the community or other organizations for a helping hand at some point. Being able to volunteer time to a worthy cause brings many of us happiness knowing that we have been able to help, even in a small way, while still knowing there is always more that can be done. Communities as a whole become stronger when those who are able to reach out with their time or resources."

Thank you to Alyeska Pipeline & United Way of Anchorage for making this day possible!
